Myself
My name is Mike Pjura.
I'm currently living outside of Red Bank, NJ, but I was raised farther north just outside of Newark. I consider myself to be a pretty normal guy, whatever that is. I go to work, spend time with my wife and daughter (Melanie and Skyler Rose), read, watch cheesey horror flicks and eat sushi... sounds pretty normal right?
My Work
I'm a Web Designer. Professional, freelance, hobbiest... all of it.
Ever since I was 16, I've loved designing web sites. There was always something about being able to express myself on such a publicly accessible medium and having the power to control exactly how I wanted that expression to look, feel and behave.
I began my professional career when I was 18. I scored an internship at a online identity consulting firm called agency.com. The first thing they had me do was help to design one of the teams' intranet site. I just remember loving to go to work. I couldn't believe that someone was actually paying me to sit around and code web sites all day. After a few months, they offered me a fulltime position and I was off.. I've been working as a web designer/developer ever since.
These days I'm working as a Web Specialist for Vonage and occupying some of my freetime with freelance web work.
